REC SEASON REFEREE REGISTRATION
You must be at at least 12 years old to be paid for games. 10 or 11 year old can be volunteer.
ONE TIME(skip if you already have a SE account): You will need to setup a SportsEngine Account. Note - If you volunteer for multiple Harrisburg Park District programs (soccer, baseball, softball, flag football), you will use the same account for all sports. However, you still have to follow registration process for every sport in which you volunteer.
EACH YEAR: ALL referees must register (no cost) through Sports Engine.
Navigate to the 2023/2024 SYSA Soccer Referee Registration Page and Click Sign In.
Enter your email address. If you do not already have a SportsEngine account, you will need to first setup your SportsEngine account.
After the you go through account setup process, you will get a verification email to activate your account. If you do not receive the email, check your junk/spam folder. Click Activate My Account.
After your SportsEngine account is setup, login to the website and go to the Registration Tab and select 2022/2023 SYSA Coach/Volunteer Soccer Registration and complete the rest of the registration process.
Finally, once you have setup your SportsEngine Account and registered, you can visit the App Store for your type of device and download the SportsEngine app for additional features.
REFEREE QUALIFICATIONS
You must be at at least 12 years old to be paid for games. 10 or 11 year old can be volunteer.
Referee Clinic: Saturday August 26, 2023 8-4 Harrisburg Park Community Rm. $45 (cash) per person. Contact Kevin Douglas - see below. Fee includes patch, whistle, and law book. You will still need to purchase jersey, shorts, socks, and watch.
If you miss the in-person class, you can take an online test (for less pay) until you are able to complete the in-person class.
Choose the Grade 8 (2018) Test at this link. Goal is to pass with at least 80%. Send a screenshot of your test results to Referee Coordinator Kevin Douglas to contact information at the bottom of this page. There are also Laws of the Game resource links on this page that may help you to pass your test.
REC SEASON REF PAY INFORMATION
Each week you will get paid by check on the following Tuesday. You may pick up your check at the Park Office during the hours of M-F 8:00am - 4:00pm.
